Old World

It’s time for Woodblock Wednesday, where you can showcase your favorite woodblock stamps. I used the old world Map background stamp from American Crafts to stamp on Kraft card stock with VersaClaire Pine Cone ink. I ran a piece of home made washi tape ( clear Scotch tape and alcohol inks) down the side. The If you were Whiskey stamp set is from Unity. The image and sentiment were both heat embossed using the Pine Cone ink with clear embossing powder. The image/sentiment were fussy cut. The inside sentiment says you’d be a really expensive whiskey.

Joy

I saw a blogpost by Heather Telford and was inspired to use a Never Before Used die (NBUS) from Penny Black, Intense Joy. I used Heather’s idea to fill the O with vintage looking paper. I had previously used coffee to dye some copy paper and then used Unity Stamps Worn Music to stamp in VersaClair Pinecone ink. I then die cut a circle to fit in the O.

Birthday Bee

The background on this card was made using a piece of used tea bag (I seem to like stamping on tea bags), which was stamped with a background stamp from Unity (no longer available) in VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink. The stamped tea bag was glued to a piece of Cream card stock. I traced around the edge with Gold pen. The Hero Arts wood block  Antique Bee and Flowers stamp was stamped with embossing ink on Kraft card stock, then heat embossed with Inkadinkado embossing powder. I used MFT Pierced Circle dies to cut the stamped/embossed image and also to cut a larger cream colored circle as a mat. The Hero Arts sentiment was stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with the same embossing powder as the bee/wreath. The sentiment banner was die cut with a die from  My Creative Time.

Tea bag stamping #3

Here’s another (used) tea bag panel that I stamped on and the colored with some acrylic markers. The background stamp is from Unity and the floral stamp is a woodblock stamp by Stampabilities. Dies are Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles. The sentiment is from Stampendous.

More Tea Bag stamping

I’m really having fun stamping and coloring on used tea bags. I used MFT Stamps Flower Silhouettes and stamped in Versa Clair Pinecone onto the cleaned and dried tea bag. I water colored the flowers and added a little sparkle with a silver Jelly Roll pen. The tea cup was die cut with a die from The Cat’s Pajamas. I cut it from some patterned paper, but didn’t like how it looked, so I colored over the paper with some Copic markers and added some Clear Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. I die cut 2 frames from ivory card stock using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle dies, glued them together and used foam tape to pop it up. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The metal gems are from my stash.

Tea bag stamping

I’ve seen several You Tube videos on Tea bag art and wanted to try it. Tea bags are a transparent, but fairly sturdy type of medium. Here’s a link for a little introduction to it by Nina Ribena Tea bag Art video
I make iced tea a gallon at a time for my husband all summer long. I use the family size tea bags, which are a little larger than a A2 card. The tea bag was rinsed and dried. The music background is a stamp from Unity stamps, stamped in VersaFine Claire Pinecone ink. The floral stamp is Hero Arts Nasturtium (NBUS), stamped in the Pinecone ink and water colored. I trimmed down and adhered the tea bag panel to an ivory card base with some Aileen’s Tacky glue and then cut two frames using MFT Stamps Stitched Rectangle. I glued them together and used foam tape to add it to the card. A few tiny gems were added for the flower centers for a little sparkle. It looks much prettier in person. The tea stains give a vintage look.

Summer mornings

For this card, I used one of my favorite coffee mug dies from Trinity Stamps to make a summery mug from a gel print I made recently. I had added some gold foil to the gel print by using some Deco foil Transfer Gel. I die cut a mug out of white cardstock and adhered the gel print mug on top to add a little depth. Glossy Accents on the “coffee” finishes the coffee mug. The sunflower was stamped using the Hero Arts woodblock stamp in VersaFine Clair Pinecone and heat embossed. Copic markers were used to color the flower. I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the center, but you can’t see it in the picture. I used a dotted embossing folder along the edge of the card base. A few real coffee beans finishes off the card.

Tea time

I used one of the Gelli prints that I had made in a Gelli plate session and cut it using an MFT Stitched Rectangle Stax dies. Two larger rectangles (from the same set) were cut out of card stock to mount behind the print. The tea cup was die cut from printed paper using Spellbinders Tea Cup and Saucer etched die set. The flowers are from Hero Arts Flowers for Coloring set, colored with Zig water color markers and fussy cut out. I added a tag from a real tea bag. The Stampabilities sentiment is stamped on a banner cut with My Creative Time die.

Teen birthday

The background was made in with Ken Oliver Colorburst Water color powders. I also used the Metallics Colorburst silver for more of a galaxy look. I added some white ink splatters. The Inkabilities stamps were stamped with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink and then clear heat embossed. I mounted the panel on black card stock and added some silver enamel dots.

Hero Arts Stay Crafty Challenge

I used an older Hero Arts background stamp (Everything Flower) and white embossing powder on both of these panels. The top panel was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks. The bottom panel was just black card stock. I used water to “color” some of the flowers an opaque hue. The flower dies are from My Creative Time. Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I added a few gems from my stash. Both of these were used for Birthday cards.

Unity Stamps Color Challenge

Unity Stamps has a color challenge on Facebook in its Unity Show and Tell group that I will enter this in. I’ve included the graphic below. I love these colors together. I finally got brave and pulled out my Gelli plate and tried a few prints. I’ve used a gelli plate one other time, with alcohol inks. I only had some old liquid acrylic paints to try it with, but I did get a few prints out of my session that I can use. I tried using the butterfly stamps from my NBUS Unity Forrest Butterfly (Graciellie Designs) with acrylic paint, but it got kind of sloppy. The top butterfly did pretty well, but the top and bottom ones didn’t resemble the stamp image at all, so I smeared the green paint with my finger and stamped over all of the images with Ranger Archival Black ink. The sentiment is from the same Unity set and is stamped on vellum with Memento Teal Zeal ink and clear heat embossed. The vellum was die cut from a My Creative Time banner set. I die cut the Gelli print panel with a Kat Scrappiness Double Stitched Slimline Rectangle die. The ribbon on the side is from Reall Reasonable Ribbon, the flowers are Imaginisce and the gems are from my stash.

Silver Forest

I’m playing along at February’s Woodblock Wednesday Challenge. I have had this Hero Arts woodblock stamp for a long time, but have hardly used it. I love the simplicity of the forest scene and decided to just try heat embossing with some silver embossing powder. I had to fix the upper right corner because the embossing ink didn’t get on the card stock. Thankfully I have one of those embossing ink pens & was able to color the ink on the missing area and add the powder. It looks ok, but up close it’s a bit uneven. The sentiment from a Hero Arts set was also heat embossed.

Racing birthday

It’s time for a grandson’s birthday card. He loves cars and racing so I found the fun digital background frame at NaliaArt on Etsy. I drew/colored the pavement. I have some car stamps, but no race cars. The race cars are from ECSCreativeDesigns on Etsy. I added Clear and Silver Wink of Stella to the road, flags and cars. The sentiment banner was cut with dies from My Creative Time. The sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped in white ink and embossed with WOW Clear Embossing powder. The silver enamel dots are from my stash.

Mermaid Birthday

One of the granddaughters is fascinated with mermaids and the color pink, so off I go to find a digital stamp of a mermaid (I do not own any physical mermaid stamps). Many images online are a bit mythological and somewhat suggestive, but I found this sweet image on Etsy at Cute and Funny Shop. The sea creature images were purchased from Etsy shop Mycutelobsterdesigns. All were printed out on 110lb. white card stock, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut out. The pink card stock panel was cut with a shell cover plate die from Lil’ Inkers Designs (no longer in business).

I used My Favorite Things Stitched Large Fishtail Banner Stax die to cut the matte silver card stock and My Favorite Things Stitched Oval die to cut the Crafter’s Consortium blue printed card stock. The banner die was cut with a My Creative Time die. The sentiment is from a Your Next Stamp set. The Twine is from Timeless Twine, bling is from my stash and the little heart is from a store bought greeting card.

Caffeinated Christmas and a few other Challenges

I’m using two new dies for this card. I saw the Winter Mug Die set from Pretty Pink Posh and loved the shape of the mug, so in my cart it went! The set comes with the larger snowflake die. I’ve also had my eye on the Cozy Cup Coaster die from the Greetery for a while and thought that it would compliment the mug well, so another new die showed up in the mail. The tiny snowflakes were cut with Lawn Fawn’s Mini Snowflake dies. The printed paper is Authentique Carefree 6 x 6 pad. I die cut the large panel with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die. The sentiment is from The Stamp Market set.
