Alcohol Ink Vibes

I love having various background panels on hand. I had previously made this alcohol ink background and thought that some silhouette stamping would look nice on it. The stamp set is MFT Flower Silhouettes, and the flowers were stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. The sentiment is actually a clear sticker sentiment from STAMPlorations Clear Stickers. I added some gray rhinestones for a hint of sparkle.

Happy Piñata

I needed a birthday card for one of my daughters and wanted something fun and festive, as she’s had a difficult time the past 7-8 months. I’ve had the older Hero Arts Paper Layering Piñata die for a while (but Never Been Used!) and saw the photo prompt at Time Out Challenge #164 so I went to work. I cut the piñata out in red, yellow, orange, blue and green card stock. The resulting die cuts can be cut apart and paper pieced in layers. The yellow layer was my base layer and I added the other colors on top. I decided not to use any of the blue, for some reason. The die set includes a piece of candy and lollipop dies.
I wanted to try out my new Kat Scrappiness Slimline dies, used to die cut both the panels for the Card front (my first slimline Card). For the card base, I used a 8 1/2 x 7 inch piece of white card stock and folded in half to end up as a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inch card that will fit into a standard business envelope. I ruffled the fringed bottoms of the piñata to give a realistic effect, added some gold and white twine for his hanger and adhered with foam squares. The margarita stamp is from a Joy Clair digital set called Spicy Like That (on sale as of this blog post date). I printed it, colored with Copics and a bit of Clear Wink of Stella on the salty rim, fussy cut it out and popped it up with foam squares. I glued 2 of the lollipops to the hands of the glass & the arranged the candies and lollipops all over, mixed in with some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some STAMPlorations Shaker Blends (Sparkly Green) to look like confetti. The sentiment stamp is from STAMPlorations Party Time and colored with Copics. The plaid printed paper is from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Fall pad. The yellow star paper is from Bella Boulevard.

Good Life

I wanted to use this tag that I made previously (all with Stamplorations dies) on a card. I pulled out the STAMPlorations Barley Stencil by Sanna Lippert Designs and began using some Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough and a little Vintage Photo on a white card front. I think that it adds just enough behind the tag to give it some interest.

Gamer’s Shaker

Our number 1 grandson turned 13-a true teenager now!
Of course, he loves the video games. I wanted it to be a shaker card, but they can be tricky, for me at least. First, I ink blended a piece of water color card stock, using some Distress Oxide inks, in shades of blue. After heat fixing, I used the larger die from My Favorite Things Game Controller Die Namics to cut the shaker window from the ink blended panel. I added the piece of acetate to the back of the top panel. I took a small piece of Chevron printed Paper from My Favorite Things Black and White Basics paper pack (retired?) and adhered it to a black card stock panel for the backdrop for the shaker window. I stamped the sentiments from MFT Stamps Level Up set. I die cut the numbers three times from black card stock, using My Creative Time Number Fun Dies, so that I could stack them for a little dimension. I added some Ranger Glossy Accents on them for shine. I used some anti-static powder on the acetate window and on the chevron background so that the elements don’t stick to the window. I used some multi colored seed beads, Silver star confetti and Sparkling Clear Droplets (from Pretty Pink Posh) to fill the shaker, centering all in the middle of the chevron shaker background. I used a piece of sticky backed craft foam (from Michaels) trimmed a bit smaller then the front panel and die cut the game controller from it and adhered it to the front panel. Then I stuck the front panel over the bottom panel and made sure it was secure. I cut some game controller “buttons” from black and red card stock and added to the top of the shaker. I think that he liked it!
