Candy Corn/Coffee Lovers Sketch

I saw this fun sketch from Kerry on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog and had to make something from some ink smooshing backgrounds I had laying around. I like to eat candy corn with peanuts...Mmmm! I liked the candy corn color scheme and went with it. I used a coffee flair from D.L. Art. The stamp has no company name on it and I bought it from a stamp shop in southern Indiana. The Trendy Twine is from Annie’s Paper Place.

Sparkly pineapples

I’ve had my eyes on the Hero Arts Color Layering Pineapple bundle for quite a while. I love to eat pineapple and I just loved how real and happy these looked. I recently won a gift card from The NBUS Challenge #12 from the very generous Darnell, so I decided to splurge and get the set.
This is my first attempt at color layering. I like it. I left the one in the middle with only two of the three colors, just for some interest. I decided to add some Clear Wink of Stella to add more cheerfulness to these fun fruits. I sent this to my sister who’s been sick with pneumonia this week-thought she could use some thoughts of a warm, lovely place.

More leaves

I made these leaves last weekend using water color paper, Distress Oxide inks and water, clear embossing powder and Spellbinders dies. I love how they turned out. We have had warmer than normal temperatures the past month and are not really seeing many vivid fall colors. I miss it!
I love how the leaves look on the DCWV burlap, so I made this card for a friend with an October birthday. At least she will see some nice fall colors on her card. I used Distress Oxide inks and ink smooshed the background paper, then added some ink spatters. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh and the satin ribbon is a freebie from an Ellen Hutson order.

Leaves #3

I'm linking to Winnie & Walter WCMD 2017 Lovely Layers Challenge.
The leaves were made by ink smooshing Distress Oxide inks on water color paper, heat setting and using clear embossing powder on the whole sheet of paper. I then used Spellbinders Shape-abilities to die cut the leaves. The back grounds are also ink smooshed with Distress Oxide inks and some spatters with my brush. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh.

The leaves were made by ink smooshing Distress Oxide inks on water color paper, heat setting and using clear embossing powder on the whole sheet of paper. I then used Spellbinders Shape-abilities to die cut the leaves.
The back grounds printed card stock is Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid-Fall. The burlap paper is from DCWV. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh.

CAS

These stamps are from a Unity Stamp Co. sentiment kit which I bought during one of their many fabulous sales. This is such a nice kit for making CAS cards (which helps me, since I’m not very good at CAS). I love how the sentiment fits between the floral bouquet. I colored the flowers and leaves with Zig Clean Color Real brush pens, added some silver washi tape, some satin ribbon and some flower sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

NBUS #3-Kudos

I am having fun making backgrounds with Distress Oxide Inks. I had gotten this awesome Stamp and die set a few months ago from Stamplorations and finally used it to make a congratulatory card for my husband’s niece who had passed a test to help her move up in the financial world. I actually had already made the background, including spraying and splattering it with Heidi Swap white shimmer spray, and decided it would work well with the gold embossed sentiment on a gold rimmed tag. I added some gold washi tape near the side and bottom of the card and added the 3 vellum flowers (Recollections-Michaels brand).
