Hot stuff

I looked on my coffee cozy from White Castle and saw the "sentiment" below, and thought it was pretty funny! This is similar to my last card on previous post, except I colored the stems of the flowers, which I don't like as much as when it's left white. I wanted to get this entered in the hop, so I'm using it. The picture isn't as white as it should be because I was too lazy to adjust my lighting and it's been soooooo gray and rainy here in the midwest.....should bring lots of flowers!

CAS Coffee

I'm trying my best to do a CAS card. It's really tempting to add more, but I'm stopping.
I recently bought some Darice embossing folders and thought this daisy one would work well for the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! #215. The coffee cup is from Prickley Pear Stamps-Coffee Cup set (since I had already stamped and cut a bunch from this set out), colored with Copics. The butterfly die cut was cut from a Recollections die set. I colored it with Copics. I left the sentiment off, because I'm not sure what I'm using this card for.

Coffee Lovers Floral

I bought a floral "coloring book" a while ago, thinking I could make quick cards from the pages.
How silly was I!!! Many of the pages have very intricate flowers and backgrounds. This small
area of the page took me a couple of evenings to finish. I used Copics, a white Prismacolor pencil to highlight and a white Sharpie marker to make dots and some dashes, as Kathy from the Daily Marker-30 Day Coloring Challenge has taught me. The coffee cup stamp and die are from Verve Stamps, the sentiment stamp is Hero Arts, the vellum banner was cut using a die from My Creative Time. The little yellow flower sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh and the gold washi tape is from Queen & Co.

Coffee Birthday!

I needed a quick card for a birthday party. What kind of card should I make? A Coffee birthday card, of course, so I could link it to the 2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! It also happens that the recipient likes coffee. I had picked up a package of white tags with some fun gold designs. I had already stamped the coffee cup from Prickley Pear Stamps Coffee Cup Clear set and cut it with the matching die set. The printed card stock is from a pad I picked up at M's. The edge was cut with a die from My Creative Time-Fun Stitched Edges set. I used Copics to color my cup to match the floral card stock. The doily is from my stash, sequins are Pretty Pink Posh and the ribbon is from Ellen Hutson. The sentiment is from Super Sponsor Verve Stamps-Surely Goodness.

Spring Coffee Lover

It's time for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. Here's my first card. I used Prickley Pear Coffee Cup Clear stamp set, stamping multiple images at one time with my MISTI, so I'll have more images to play with for future cards. I used the matching die set to cut out the images.
I colored the coffee cup with Zigs, cut out a cup from a coffee cozy and then cut the portion to fit the cozy area, then added the coffee beans. I picked up the vellum flowers and pastel card stock at Michaels. The circle for the sentiment was die cut using MFT Pierced Circle Die-namics. The ribbon was a freebie from an Ellen Hutson order.

Same stamp-different markers

I am still a pretty novice Copic and Zig Clean Color Real Brush marker user. I wanted to see how different the shading turns out between the two types of markers, without diluting the Zigs with water (different colors were used because I wanted to use the red tones for the Copics, but then realized that I only have 2 red tones in the Zigs).
I like both, but feel a little more comfortable using the Copics at this point.
I like how both cards turned out, in their own way. I like the bright hues of the Zigs, but I also like the more controlled variation in shading with the Copics. The 1st card was colored with the Copics and the bottom was using the Zigs.
Anyway, I did this for myself, not to pit these types of markers against each other. I will continue to use and enjoy both kinds of markers.

The floral stamps are My Creative Time-Just Because, the sentiment is from Unity Beautiful Life, Blessed Memories sentiment kit, stamped on a vellum banner cut with My Creative Time Trio Stitched Banner dies. The sequins are Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and the ribbons were both freebies from Ellen Hutson orders.

Anchored

I used some stamps from MFT Stamps Go Overboard (retired) to make a masculine card.
The new little Anchor die is from Echo Park and I just got it about a few weeks ago, mainly for masculine cards. The hexagon die is from Pretty Pink Posh. I used an older embossing folder from Quick Cuts.

Coloring on Vellum

Here's my third birthday card I needed for this week.
I saw the inspiration photo over at Just Us Girls Challenge Blog (which I missed linking to-ARGGHH!) and wanted to make something based on those red tulips. I have tried coloring on vellum one other time and liked how it turned out, so that's what I went with. I used this floral stamp/die set and used Ranger Archival ink in Jet Black and dried it with my heat gun before I turned it over and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment is from a birthday set from Simon Says Stamp.
I attached the vellum to a panel of Neenah Solar white card stock, added some ribbon from my stash to finish it off and attached the panel to a white card base. I'm usually not good at CAS, but this method makes it easy-no need to add much else!
