Wow! I love this background stamp from My Favorite Things (NBUS)! I've had it for a month or two and I had to use it to make my daughter's birthday card. I used my new MISTI (Love it!) to stamp it twice with Ranger Embossing ink. I used American Crafts White embossing powder and heat embossed with my heat gun. For color inspiration, I used the colors from House of Cards: August Challenge Use Twine and/or Colors (even thought I didn't get my card linked to the challenge :-( ). To achieve the colors, I used the following Distress ink colors to do a water color wash over the embossed image: Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord, Fired Brick, Victorian Velvet, Festive Berries, Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose. I used some ribbon from Ellen Hutson and some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The banner was cut from some Crafter's Companion Silver Starlight shimmering card stock using the Stitched Party Dies from My Creative Time. The sentiment from Verve Stamps: Simply Amazing set (enabler alert--Verve has a sale right now...30% off all stamps and dies!) was stamped on a piece of vellum using Versafine Onyx Black ink and cut with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Essentials 1 die set (NBUS). I heat set it with my heat gun. It still wasn't completely dry and I didn't want to heat the vellum too much, so I took a paper towel and carefully dabbed it so the ink would not smear. I am usually making cards the day before or the day that I need them, so I can't let them sit and dry naturally!
The inside of the card finishes the sentiment with, "as you are", just in case you were in suspense:-)
Here is the House of Cards Color palette (which I missed entering the challenge!)
