I haven't had too many chances to get crafty lately due to the crazy circus that seems to be my life!
I had to get 2 birthday cards made last week, one for my oldest daughter and one for an awesome friend (the next post!).
This is the card I made for my daughter. She likes things neat and orderly, so I wasn't sure about using messy Ranger Texture Paste, messy water coloring with Distress Ink and the messy butterfly trail made using Luminarte Twinkling H20!
One reason that I decided to get some of the new Texture Paste by Ranger was from watching one of Jennifer McGuire's You Tube comparisons of Texture Paste and Embossing Paste. She demonstrates how the Texture Paste will take up color so much better than Embossing paste. You can watch it HERE (YouTube Video)
I used the Um Wow Butterfly Swarm Mask and the Texture Paste to make my butterfly swarm, let it dry, then watercolored the butterflies with Ranger Distress Inks.
The second picture shows a close-up of the butterflies with the Heavenly Twinkling H20 painted across them and their flutter trail (sorry for the bad colors in the second picture-I had to lighten and brighten it up a bit!). You can see how the Distress inks soaked into the dried butterflies and also bled onto the card stock a little too, but oh well! My daughter liked the card and I got to play with the new product!
I'm linking this to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge-Anything Goes, Paper Issues-Admit One Challenge and The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge-Stencils and Pastes.
