Birthday Party

My grandson turned 7 this week. Time for a party at our house! We had lots of cleaning to do! I had to clean up almost all of my craft supplies. But I did get this card made before I did.
I had actually made the background card base a few weeks ago while taking the Water Coloring for Card Makers class. I put Ranger Distress Inks on my Um Wow Star Confetti Mask, then spritzed it with some water and layed it on the water color card stock. It's kind of opposite of stenciling.
I painted some chipboard balloons and confettii from the Um Wow Big Bash collection with acrylic paints and went over them with some Twinkling H2O in Heavenly and a little Egyptian Gold on the weight. I used a White Faber Castell PITT Artist Big Brush pen in white to color the strings of the balloon.
The stamps are from CAS-ual Fridays-Rad.

I wanted to link this to another masculine challenge, where you can't use kraft color, but I can't remember where I saw it…oh well!

Wishy Washi

Time for Unity Stamp Co's-Friends with Flair, their weekly challenge and a chance to win some free rubber!
I was cleaning out my billfold and ran across a credit card sized coupon made out of heavy card stock. I looked at it and thought it would be easy to cover in washi tape and make a fun embellishment for a card. I used some ombre washi tape from Pink Fresh Studio. What a fun "Trick"!
My image stamp is a Stamp of the Week A Lovely Butterfly Day and the sentiment is from Bunches of Love.  I colored the butterfly with Distress markers-should've used Copics, but had just bought some new Distress markers and felt guilty that I hadn't opened them up yet!
The sequins are from Paper Issues and I picked up the gold thread from JoAnn's.
