Tuesday Trigger

I decided to try the Tuesday Trigger Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World blog. I liked the palette. Isn't it pretty?

I have to admit, it was a little challenging for me. I needed a card for my nephew and his wife. They had a baby girl almost three weeks ago and she's already had open heart surgery. She's already off the vent and her central line is out-Wow! Talk about a miracle!
Anyway, I only have one stamp that pertains to babies (I guess that means that I need to shop for some more!) and it wasn't fitting on my design I had in my head. I really wanted to double mat the sentiment, but I didn't have enough room (I guess I should have made this a 6x6 card instead of an A2). Also, I wasn't sure that I wanted so many colors in my card for baby Mary. But then I figured that her mom will probably be thrilled to get a new baby card. I think that we were all holding back to see how successful the surgery was. Now that she's doing so well, we can let loose a little!
I found the heart paper in the Glitz Color me Happy 6x6 pad-I love that one!
I even made an angel and cross stick/hat pin special for their miracle baby.
Here is what I ended up with.

Products used: Echo Park Sweet Day, Glitz Vintage Blue, Glitz Color Me Happy, Glitz Love You Madly, Authentique Lively (all 6x6 pads), Unity Stamps Devoted (and another set-can't find it right now!), Distress Ink Broken China, Ripe Persimmon and Victorian Velvet, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Spellbinders Labels Four, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, Recollection doily, Glue Dots, Thermoweb Foam Squares and my Scotch ATG.

50 followers post

I just noticed that there are 50 people following my little blog! :-)
I think it's time for some blog candy!
Leave me a comment (please only positive ones) by 6PM CST on Monday 7/22 and I will draw a name and post it the following day here on my blog. It may not rival any CHA prize packages, but winning blog candy is always fun.

I'm linking this card up to Unity Stamp Co.'s weekly Friends with Flair Challenge
and Cocoa Creations Challenge #9, which was to make something using washi tape.
I don't know about you, but I have bought quite a few rolls and have even made some washi tape. Why don't I use it more often? It is the easiest embellishment to use!
I didn't know what I wanted to do. I started rummaging around in my stash and saw the pretty lavender. I got this washi tape in a swap over at Cropchocolate.com. I knew that I wanted to put green with it and I had to make a quick card because bedtime was approaching (and passed me by) and I needed the card for today for a friend of mine. The Prima flowers were from a purchase that I made at a scrapbook store on a day trip with my dear hub. I made the beaded pin and think that she will appreciate it because she is an avid beader.
The picture is not very clear and I would retake it, but the card is already in an envelope ready to give to my friend.
I must really like greens and purples-this card matches my blog background pretty well!
Stay cool and keep crafting!

Products used: Imaginisce washi tape, music washi tape (unknown brand), Paper Studios card base, Unity Stamp, Petaloo Darjeeling flowers, Quick Quotes Chalk ink Plum Crazy, Glue Dots, hand made beaded pin

My sketch comes from Repeat Impression Stamps/The House That Stamps Built. Their sketch challenge is called "What if Wednesdays?" Here is the sketch.

I am also entering this in the Anything Goes Challenge over at Word Art Wednesday.
I once again kept it simple, as I have several projects going on at once and one is going to be late ;-(

Mojo

Here's a last minute card for Mojo Monday 300 Celebration Phew!

Products used: Paper Studios Simple Solids card base, Close to My Heart paper (I think. It was a gift to  me), Prima flower, Scrappin Supplies Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Scotch ATG adhesive, Wilton doily

Mojo, Mix and Dragonflies!

I find it hard to "mix it up"-meaning mix really different patterns and colors of paper. I guess that means  that I am a more traditional and symmetrical person, right?
I am really loving Dragonflies lately. They love my back yard. There are mostly blue and red ones.
Well here is my attempt. I am entering this into a couple of challenges :

Unity Friends with Flair
