Red, White and Blue

What more can I say than God Bless the Red, White and Blue!
I love this country and feel so blessed to live here.
We all (myself included) should appreciate the freedom we have here, while people in other countries have to hide many of their thoughts and ideas.
Happy 4th of July!
Celebrate safely :)
I used a sketch from Mojo Monday, but it was too late to enter there.

Favorites

I participate over at the Crop Chocolate Cocoa Challenges. This week we were to use a favorite stamp and another Favorite, i.e. color, dies, ribbon, etc.
I needed to make a card for one of my daughters' birthday. I used one of my favorite stamps from Unity Stamp Co. called Dream Big. These butterflies are just begging to be painted or colored with markers or pencils! Here was my color inspiration.

I also used a favorite paper by Authentique, called Genuine. It has mostly blues and many papers look like a favorite old pair of jeans. I also used my favorite flowers-roses. Other favorites that I used were some Creative Inspiration Paints and my Martha Stewart eyelet lace punch.
I hope that you got to play with some of your favorite craft items this week!
I am also linking this up to the Anything Goes Challenge at Simon Says Stamp ChallengeThe House That Stamps Built Summer challenge
and the Anything Goes Challenge at Creative Inspirations Paint.

RWB, ribbon and chipboard

It's the first day of summer. That means baseball, hot days by the pool and 4th of July-which brings me to Red, White and Blue. I love these colors, not only for what they represent-our awesome country and the battles that we have fought and won to preserve it, but also because they are just so bright and full of life!

UmWow-Friends with Flair

I made a card for some "online friends" this week, who are going through some difficult times.
In addition to the stamp from Unity Stamp Co., I used a chipboard butterfly from my friend DeeDee's online store UmWow Studio. Her chipboard is so solid, plus it's acid free.

Friends with Flair and Love

The theme this week over at Crop Chocolate for the Coccoa Creations challenge is Love.
It is actually more about weddings and anniversaries, but my card is about sending love to my aunt and uncle. He has Parkinson's disease and she has been taking care of him for years. It hasn't been easy, but she stuck by him because that's what love is all about! She recently called in hospice to help her and I know she needs some encouragement and love. They are both out door-nature loving people, so I wanted the card to be a little more nature oriented. I am also entering this in Unity's Friends with Flair, since my stamps are from their Sending my Love set.

Products I used: MME Lost and Found Two-Breeze 6x6 paper, kraft cs, MME Indie Chic Washi tape-"Grow", other washi, Distress Ink- Walnut stain and Forest Moss, Stazon Jet Black ink, Trendy Twine

Raspberry dessert/ODBD/3GJ card

Over at CropChocolate.com the Cocoa Creations Challenge #3 is this:

Theme is Raspberry Dessert-create a layout, card, altered art, etc. using the following "ingredients" along with anything else you want to throw in: Chipboard (the crust for the dessert) Something white and fluffy (the Dream Whip) Something red (the raspberries) 3 bling (the number of steps to make Raspberry Dessert).

The Shining Light Challenge on the Our Daily Bread Designs blog is to use a prayer, blessing or encouraging scripture. I wanted to make an encouraging card for one of my aunts, who has had health issues for the past year or so.
I will also enter this card in the Anything Goes Challenge over at 3 Girl Jam blogspot.
