Here is a card that I made for the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining Light Challenge. The theme is Sky or Water. I have this mountain range included in the stamp set called Keep Climbing. I love this stamp!
I also used a stamp from the stamp set called Lift up Your Hands.
I first covered the edges of my water color paper with masking tape. I took my Faber Castell Gelatos and scribbled some colors, then used a brush with water to blend them...so fun!
After that dried, I stamped my image and sentiment and used white embossing powder to make it stand out on the gelato colored paper. I used a few brads from my stash instead of ribbon because I intend to send it to a male relative.
I hope that you can't tell too much that the sentiment is a little crooked :(
That's what I get when I try to cook and craft at the same time!
I just want to say "Thank you" to all of those who have served or are still serving our country in any branch of the military. My dad was a WWII veteran and his grandfather was a Civil War veteran. Dad didn't talk too much about the war until his final years, so although I didn't comprehend it when I was younger, I am so amazed at what he and all of the living and deceased veterans have sacrificed to maintain our country's and other countries' freedom.
I will be thinking of my dad, his grandfather and all of the other veterans tomorrow :)
