Showers of flowers

Here is another Friday-they are just flying by! Today is my youngest daughter's birthday. She is in college and lives about 120 miles away. Being that I am off of work today, my oldest daughter, my grandson and I are going to take a road trip to take her (and probably a couple of her room mates) out for dinner. I baked a small cake and some cup cakes and will take her some money in a card I made a few weeks back (Here is that post), since that's all college kids usually want is money!
Anyway, I have been recovering from a nasty respiratory virus, so haven't been very productive. I finally got a little inspiration from several challenges and I am still fixated on flowers-such a pretty subject to be fixated on! I love all of the colors that spring and early summer bring us in the form of flowers.
My friend Julie O. sent me the name of another sketch challenge blog Sunday Sketch and Stamp and here is their current sketch that I used

Challenge #59 over at Crop Chocolate was to use buttons, ribbon and an image (as well as 50% of products purchased from Crop Chocolate), so that was easy to incorporate into this sketch.
I wanted to use a new stamp that I purchased from Unity Stamp Co. called Tulips and Daisies. I wanted to try painting the image with some sparkly paints from Creative Inspirations Paints. They are super easy to use, work on any surface and clean up with soap and water!

I stamped my image with Stazon Jet Black ink on a piece of DCWV Adhesive Fabric stack. They are white 6x6 sheets and they are a lightweight linen material with adhesive already on them.
After painting my image and adding some water droplets and puddles with Baby Blue Stickles for the Linky party over at All That Stickles blog, I added some ribbon from 3 Girl Jam. I will enter this card in the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge #153
Crop Chocolate challenge #59
Unity Friends with Flair
All That Stickles Baby Blue linky party
3 Girl Jam's Anything Goes Challenge
Really Reasonable Ribbon's Mother's Day and a ribbon challenge

I feel that I should have used red ribbon instead of the aqua, but it is done. I will send this to my aunt for Mother's Day, (my mom's baby sister) since she is the closest to my mom who is still living. Have a great week!

Products used: So Happy Together 6x6 by EP, Happy Together buttons by FP, Barn Door Distress Ink, Glossy Accents, 3GJam Ribbon, DCWV Adhesive Fabric stack, Unity stamp Tulips and Daisies, Stazon Jet Black ink, Creative Inspirations paints Antique Gold, Garnet, Tanzanite, Chocolate, Green Olive and Winter Frost, Baby  Blue Stickles

Vintage

I love the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe this week, although it was a little challenging to find paper that meshed well.

I did find that the Authentique Fresh collection was a good start and I added in solid card stock from Echo Park's Scoot and Pink Paisley's Little Sport. I am playing over at Seize the Birthday so I used the current week's sketch

I used a stamp from Unity Stamp Co. called Consider Yourself Vintage and used Distress Ink Chipped Sapphire on the printed card stock. I am trying to get away from the urge to always stamp on white cs. I think this looks more vintage than it would have stamped on white or even creme cs. I used the Chipped Sapphire and some Fired Brick D.I. to ink the edges, added some twine and a brass brad from my stash to keep it on the "guy" side of embellished.
There is a sentiment included with this set that says "You are old" that I thought about using, but I think I can only use that for certain people. Since I am just making birthday cards to have on hand, I went with the less direct sentiment :)

Hip Hip Hooray!

It's spring! We had a 70 degree day and that sun feels good on my face!
I feel like the girl in this cute Phyllis Harris stamp from Unity Stamp Co.

Littlescrapsoflucy.blogspot.com

I colored her with some MEPXY alcohol markers (very similar to Copics) and then went over it with some Creative Inspirations Paints to give it some opaque sheen.
I used Blush, Green Olive and Mellow Yellow.

A sentiment stamp from my Unity Stamp of the Week and some American Crafts ribbon finishes this card off.
I will enter this in Creative Inspirations Paint Challenge-Spring Colors
and Unity's Friends with Flair.

More flowers

A few weeks ago, I made a couple of flowers out of a water bottle bottom and some other plastic packaging. The links to the YouTube tutorials on how to make them are on that post here. I am using the second flower to make a birthday card for my youngest daughter who is away at college. She likes pink and green, so it worked well with some True Friends paper from Carta Bella.
I am entering this card in Seize the Birthday Challenge,

All That Stickles Blogspot-Yellow Linky ChallengeRibbon Carousel ChallengeCropchocolate.com's weekly challenge: Bright Spring Colors and Unity Stamp Co.'s Friends with Flair, since my sentiments (outside and inside) are Unity.

Products used: 6x6 True Friends paper by Carta Bella, Ranger Alcohol Ink Citrus, Cotton Candy Stickles, Unity stamp Fabulous Birthday, white cs, Distress Ink Mowed Lawn, Yellow Stickles, angel pin from Pinque Peacock, other Ranger alcohol inks, Really Reasonable Ribbon, water bottle, other plastic

Faith

I was so hoping to get this done and linked up to The Play Date Cafe. Their colors this week were gorgeous! But I was playing with my bow and adding Stickles at the last minute, so I missed entering it this week.

I just got a Big Kick (with a coupon, of course!). I have been buying dies for a couple of months, either on sale or with coupons at various stores. I felt a little guilty buying one, but I couldn't wait to try the pretty nesting die sets that are available.
I also couldn't wait to use a new stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs called Quote Collection 3. I will enter this in their current challenge He is Risen with Pastels.
I will also link this up to Word Art Wednesday. I ran across this blog while viewing a couple of the Design Team members' blogs from Our Daily Bread Designs.
This is also tripling (is that a word?) as my Unity Stamp Co.'s Friends with Flair, since the cross stamp is from their Faith stamp set and I am running out of time to make anything else :)

Product list: Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms and Floral Ovals, Our Daily Bread Designs Quote Collection 3, Unity Stamp Co. Faith (the cross), Zva Creative crystal flourish, 3Girl Jam Ribbon, Distress Ink Vintage Photo and Shaded Lilac, My Mind's Eye So Sophie-Graceful printed cs, cs from my stash, Stickles, Recollection leaves.
