Unity November Kit of the Month Challenge/RCC74 Fall Spirit

With Fall slowly fading away and the Christmas season in full swing, The Ribbon Carousel has a challenge on their blog and the theme is Giving Thanks/Fall. They give away one of their ribbon carousels as the prize each month. I hope that it is me this month! I have been on a ribbon buying mission the past few months-I never seem to have the perfect color or style when I need it!
I am also entering this card in Unity Stamp Co.'s November Kit of the month sketch challenge.
Here is the sketch

and here is my card.

I used stamps from 3 different Unity sets: Stamp of the Week-Your nuts, but I love yaFaith and Crunch Time. I used American Crafts Zing embossing powder in Copper--love it!
I used Authentique Lively for the background cardstock and the patterned cs behind the cardboard leaf (that my Crop Chocolate friend Kathy C. made me!). I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Brushed corduroy on the edge of the sentiment piece and Frayed Burlap on the edges of the Authentique cs.
A little sparkly ribbon in fall tones from my stash and it's done! It looks better in real life-not quite as shiny.

Authentique Sketch Challenge/ Unity Friends with Flair

I have fallen for Authentique papers! Here is their sketch challenge from their blog http://blog.authentiquepaper.com

I used Authentique Peaceful and Festive 6x6 paper pads. I took a plain off-white piece of card stock and stamped it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Bundled Sage using some snowflake stamps from Unity ( http://unitystampco.com ) the Season of Joy set. I then embossed the stamped cs, using the Winter set #3 embossing folder from Ellison. I stamped my sentiment and Unity stars (Splatters and stars set) with TH Distress Ink in Fired Brick and the holly in Bundled Sage and cut them out. I colored the holly with TH Distress markers. I inked most of the pieces with TH Distress Ink in Bundled Sage and Forest Moss. I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the stars and the holly berries.
I had some twine from Ribbon Carousel that matched nearly perfectly and added some brads from my stash.
Here is my card, which I also entered in the Unity Friends with Flair weekly challenge.

Fall in Shades of purple

Wow-we are almost 1 week away from Thanksgiving! I have to start making my shopping list.
In my wanderings on other crafter's blogs, I found 2 other card challenge sites. One is called The Playdate Cafe and it is all about colors. It is weekly so there's lots of color inspiration! The second site is called Do You Stack Up? It is a theme based weekly challenge. If you want to win prizes, you have to use products from their sponsors. I didn't have any, so I am just playing there for fun.
Edit to post: I was informed by Denise from the Do You Stack Up? blog that you do not need to use products from their sponsors to qualify to win prizes. Thanks!
I just found these two sites yesterday and made a quick card last night.
Products used: Unity Stamp set-Faith, Hero Arts Stamps-Real Leaves (I found these when we were cleaning out my parents' house a few years ago, so I felt like my mom would have liked this :-), AC Ribbon, TH Distress Ink-Picked Raspberry, Stampabilities ink-violet, Color Box Chalk Ink-Warm Violet and Wisteria, Bazzill cs, and Clear Gems by Scrappin Supplies.
I will also enter this card in The Ribbon Carousel Challenge since it has ribbon and leaves on it. The colors are not traditional, but yet, it's still a take on the Fall theme.
I guess this will be my Unity Friends with Flair Challenge entry. I thought I could get something else made, but not tonight. There are prizes to be won on FWF :) I recently won a grab bag of their itty bitty stamps for commenting on someone's blog! It was in my mailbox within 5 days of emailing Unity-awesome!
Thanks for stopping by!
